Why Bandipora needs support
Bandipora lies along the shores of Wular Lake, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Asia, and stretches north into the remote, high-altitude Gurez valley near the Line of Control. This geography defines its needs.
Fishing and farming communities around the Wular are exposed to flooding and shifting water levels, while Gurez is snowbound and cut off for much of the winter. Our work in Bandipora spans flood and winter relief and support for the district's most isolated households.
